Socialte Prima Kardashi walked away with the win, but media personality Zahara Totto left the ring questioning the judges’ decision.
Prima beat Zahara by a 4:1 split decision on Saturday, September 12, at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, during Week 10 of the Uganda Boxing Champions League, organised by the Uganda Boxing Federation (UBF).
The three-round bout ended with Zahara openly challenging the verdict and alleging that some of the judges had taken bribes.
She also claimed that judges had approached her for money before the fight, but said she refused to pay.
Speaking on Sanyuka Uncut, UBF president Moses Muhangi pushed back against the allegations and defended the officials who scored the bout.
I do not think that is true because all our judges are professional because we are trying so hard to grow the sport of boxing. The boxers fight, a winner emerges and the loser can ask for a rematch.
Muhangi left the door open for another fight, although he wants emotions to settle before the two sides discuss a rematch.
We shall talk to them when the tempers have cooled down. If Zahara still wants to fight Prima, she can ask her for a rematch and I also beleice Prima is ready to prove that she won.
The fight followed months of tension between the two celebrities, whose feud had already spilled from social media into real life.
Prima and Zahara had spent months trading insults online, with their exchanges touching on relationships, money and fashion.
Things took a more serious turn in July when the two clashed at a UBF event at Lugogo Arena, forcing people around them to separate them.
That confrontation helped take their rivalry into the ring, with the UBF sanctioning a three-round celebrity boxing bout between the pair.
Prima eventually got her hand raised, but Zahara’s objection to the verdict has kept the controversy going.
Muhangi, meanwhile, says the federation can discuss a rematch once emotions have cooled down.
