Kadongo Kamu star Mathias Walukaga has opened up about his family life, revealing that he is happily married and has children.
The veteran musician says his wife remains an important part of his life, but he deliberately keeps her away from the public spotlight.
Walukaga explained that he wants to protect his family from unnecessary attention and does not want to involve his wife in everything that comes with his career.
Despite spending decades in the public eye, the singer believes some parts of his personal life should remain private.
Fans could get a rare glimpse of his wife next year, though.
Walukaga revealed that he may bring her to his upcoming concert in January, giving supporters an opportunity to see the woman he has largely kept away from the cameras.
The “Second Hand” concert will take place on January 15, 2027, at the Sheraton Hotel Gardens in Kampala.
Why Walukaga Recorded ‘Second Hand’
Walukaga also explained the message behind his song “Second Hand,” saying he recorded it to defend the dignity of women.
He said women have faced criticism and mistreatment, and he wanted to use the song to address some of those issues.
The song also shares its title with his upcoming concert, making it an important part of his current musical plans.
Walukaga has built much of his career around Kadongo Kamu music that tackles social issues and everyday experiences.
The Kabaka of Buganda has also recognised his contribution to Ugandan music and the arts.
Music currently takes priority for Walukaga, but his career has also taken him into politics.
Walukagga Puts Politics on Hold
The musician has served as mayor of Kyengera Town Council and pursued a parliamentary bid during the 2026 election cycle.
Walukaga now says he has put his political ambitions on hold.
Instead, he is focusing on his music, his fans and preparations for the January concert.
