Social media influencer Jelton has, with her comments about not settling to date a man who doesn’t own a car, attracted mixed reactions online.
“I cannot date a man without a car. It’s not the first requirement, but what do you mean you don’t have a car?” Jelton said during a TikTok live session with Barista Timo.
Her comments have since sparked outrage among a section of netizens on social media.
Some netizens have questioned why material things continue to be the yardstick for choosing who to date for many young Ugandan girls.
Others, however, have backed Jelton’s statements, noting that she has the right to set her own standards of the man she would like to date.
