Relationship expert DJ Jacob Omutuuze has weighed in on the ongoing debate over whether people should date for financial stability and let love follow later.
The debate was sparked by media personality Doreen Nasasira, who recently revealed that she would not consider dating a financially struggling man, recalling that her previous experience with such a relationship subjected her to difficult times.
However, Omutuuze has challenged this mindset, arguing that love should take precedence over a partner’s financial status.
He said judging a potential partner primarily by the size of their wallet reflects deeper personal shortcomings, insisting that genuine love should not be built around money.
In this age and era, if a woman only looks at a man’s pocket or wallet when considering a partner to settle with, that woman is both poor and broke from deep down her heart, in manners, discipline and everything at large. Love is bigger and greater than money.
If you find someone saying they are in love with a person because of their money, just know that person doesn’t love their partner. Love is not built that way.
Omutuuze further argued that financial circumstances can change with time, noting that some relationships have started between financially struggling men and financially stable women before the couples eventually improved their lives together.
Time will come when they will consider settling with whoever is willing to come and take them.

He also pointed to women who have chosen to have children outside traditional relationships, saying some women have eventually turned to sperm donation and raised children without their biological fathers being present.
Turning specifically to Nasasira, Omutuuze suggested that her current views could change with time, attributing them to her present focus on money, fame, popularity and education.
Doreen Nasasira is now only being disturbed by money, the little fame and popularity she has, plus the education status she brags about, but time will come and she will bend low. God created that a woman will be submissive to a man in life.
Omutuze also maintained that financial struggles should not automatically disqualify someone from being considered a potential partner, citing relationships where financially stable women have supported men who were still finding their footing.
So many financially struggling men have fallen in love with financially stable women and have moved on and made developmental progress in life, with the woman lifting the man.
He concluded by suggesting that Nasasira’s current position could change as she grows older.
At her old age, she is still being disturbed by adolescence. She will calm down with time.
