Media personality Momo19 has opened up about why she returned to television despite previously saying she had completely walked away from the industry.
After leaving BBS Terefayina, Momo19 later joined Spark TV, but eventually stepped away from the station as well. At the time, she had decided to quit television altogether and focus on other plans.
However, the media personality has now found her way back to the small screen and is currently working with Baba TV.
While speaking to Allan Cruz, whom she previously worked with at BBS Terefayina before he left to focus on his YouTube podcast, Momo19 revealed that circumstances pushed her back into television.
She explained that after leaving BBS, she had planned to return to school. Unfortunately, those plans did not materialize after she encountered personal challenges that prevented her from continuing with her studies.
According to Momo19, the situation left her feeling stranded and idle, which is when opportunities in television started coming her way again.
She also credited Daxx Kartel for encouraging her to reconsider TV work.
Daxx (Kartel) would tell me to go back. When I left BBS, I was supposed to return to school but problems came and I didn’t manage to fulfill that. I was left stranded and idle and then opportunities started coming in from TV stations.
During the conversation, Momo19 also reflected on her experience working at different TV stations in Uganda. She revealed that she has worked with several broadcasters, including Sanyuka TV.
She noted that the payment structures varied depending on the station. At Sanyuka TV, she was paid a monthly salary, while during her time at Spark TV she was compensated per episode.
Eddy Kenzo, the President of the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF), has opened up about his family background, revealing that his biological mother was of Rwandan origin.
Speaking about his childhood, Kenzo explained that although he spent only a short time with his mother before she passed away, he clearly remembers hearing her speak Kinyarwanda fluently.
He noted that had she lived longer, he would likely be fluent in the language as well.
My mother is a Rwandese. I saw her and heard her speak Rwandese fluently. Had she not passed on when I was still a kid, I would also be fluent in it.
Despite his maternal roots, the award-winning singer emphasized that he remains Ugandan by both birth and nationality.
Kenzo said he was born in Masaka’s Ssenyange area, where he grew up before later relocating to Kampala in pursuit of his music career.
He added that Masaka remains home to him, saying he even expects to be buried there one day.
I am Ugandan—I was born in Masaka, Ssenyange, where I grew up before relocating to Kampala. Even when I die, I will be buried in Masaka.
Kenzo also revealed that his father was the late Chef Ali, who hailed from the Ankole region in western Uganda.
The singer explained that for many years he deliberately avoided discussing details about his family background in the media.
According to him, he wanted to focus on building his music career and avoid potential controversy surrounding conversations about his father.
“My father is from Ankole. Mzee Chef Ali is my dad. I just didn’t want to reveal the details in the media because I didn’t want to create controversy. I wanted to concentrate on my music.”
However, the matter became public after Yoweri Museveni mentioned the relationship, effectively revealing a secret Kenzo had kept for a long time.
When President Museveni revealed it, there was nothing to take back, so we had to go with it. I also came to understand later that he was my father because I grew up knowing someone else.
When most people retire, they slow down. But for one former health worker from Mulago National Referral Hospital, retirement came with a degree and a brand-new mission.
Meet Catherine Magoola Nakamya — the retired anaesthesia practitioner who recently graduated from Makerere University with a Bachelor of Medical Education, proving that it’s never too late to chase a dream.

25 Years in Theatre, Then Back to Class
Nakamya spent 25 years working in anaesthesia, one of the most critical specialties in the operating theatre responsible for keeping patients safe and pain-free during surgery.
But after years in the field, she noticed something missing.
“I saw a gap, and I felt I needed to upgrade so that I could gain the skills to teach and prepare learners better,” she said.
Instead of relaxing as retirement approached, Nakamya enrolled at Makerere in September 2022 for a three-year programme. She completed the course in June 2025 and officially retired two months later — graduating shortly afterwards.
Balancing Work, School and Family
Her journey was far from easy.
From Monday to Friday, Nakamya attended lectures at Makerere. On weekends, she returned to hospital duty. When teaching practice came around, she used her annual leave to complete the requirement.
Evenings were reserved for assignments and family responsibilities.
“The biggest challenge was managing time, but I was determined not to fail at work, at home, or in class,” she said.
Inspired by Her Own Children
Interestingly, part of her motivation came from her children.
Nakamya is a mother of three, and all of them have pursued higher education. Two already hold master’s degrees while the youngest is currently studying for one.
Rather than feeling pressured by their academic achievements, she said they inspired her to go back to school.
Not Her First Qualification
Before earning the degree, Nakamya already held three diplomas in nursing, anaesthesia, and health leadership and management from the former Mulago Paramedical School.
But the degree adds a new dimension to her career — training the next generation of health workers.
“Learning Has No Age Limit”
Graduating just months after retirement, Nakamya says the experience proves one thing: education never expires.
She believes professional growth shouldn’t stop simply because someone is nearing retirement.
Now, the veteran health worker hopes to use her new skills in teaching and mentorship, helping to prepare future medical professionals.
And her story sends a powerful message to young people on campus:
Dreams don’t expire — sometimes they just take a little longer to graduate.
Hon. Robert Migadde Ndugwa, the chairperson of the Uganda Parliamentary SACCO, has provided an update regarding the savings and financial contributions made following the death of the late Muhammad Ssegirinya.
Speaking an interview on Spark TV, Migadde explained that the Parliamentary SACCO brings together current Members of Parliament, former MPs, as well as staff and former staff of Parliament, and that the late Ssegirinya was an active member with personal savings in the cooperative.
Migadde revealed that after Ssegirinya’s passing, Parliament passed a motion encouraging members to contribute toward supporting his family.
Each MP reportedly contributed Shs 300,000, raising close to Shs 160 million intended to assist the late legislator’s relatives.
However, the money has not yet been released to the family.
According to Migadde, the funds were temporarily placed under the custody of the Parliamentary SACCO because no officially recognized beneficiary or administrator had been presented.
When he breathed his last, Parliament passed a motion where each member contributed Shs 300,000. The money amounted to almost Shs 160 million meant for his family. But since no rightful person was presented to receive it, the funds were kept with the Parliamentary SACCO.
It wouldn’t be proper to leave it on Parliament’s account because when the financial year ends, such money returns to the national budget.
He added that the SACCO is still holding the funds safely, not because they doubt Ssegirinya’s passing, but because no legally recognized representative of the family has been identified to receive the money.
Migadde further noted that the situation has been complicated by uncertainty surrounding the late MP’s marital status, as it has not been clearly established who his legally recognized spouse is.
As a result, the family is expected to appoint an official administrator of the estate, after which the money will be formally handed over.

TikToker Pressure 24/7, real name Ibrahim Musana, has been remanded to Luzira Prison until March 26, 2026.
Musana was arrested a few days ago and remained in detention before being arraigned today at the City Hall Court, where he was formally charged with hate speech, making slanderous remarks through social media, and computer misuse.
According to prosecutors, the charges stem from several posts Musana allegedly shared on TikTok targeting Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the First Son and Chief of Defence Forces.
Authorities claim that in the posts, Musana used photos of the general accompanied by statements describing him as unfit to hold any public office, remarks investigators say amount to hate speech and misuse of computer systems under Ugandan law.
During his court appearance, Musana faced additional accusations of accessing and publishing personal data without authorization.
The magistrate subsequently ordered that Pressure 24/7 be remanded to Luzira Prison until March 26, 2026, when he is expected to return to court for further proceedings.
This is not the first time Musana has faced legal trouble. In 2024, he was also arrested and remanded over similar allegations related to his social media activity.
Ugandan singer King Michael has shared a bizarre story from his early days in the music industry, recalling how a night out in Kampala ended with members of Jose Chameleone’s crew allegedly forcefully taking one of his designer shoes.
According to King Michael, the incident happened years ago at the once-popular Kampala nightclub Club Angenoir during what was supposed to be a routine night of fun and celebration.
The singer said the drama began even before he arrived at the club. He later learned that some members of Chameleone’s team had reportedly told the music star that King Michael would be wearing a pair of shoes they believed belonged to him.
“Chameleone’s boys told him that I was wearing his shoe and that it was supposed to be his,” King Michael recalled. “Chameleone asked them, ‘What shoe?’ They told him that I was going to be wearing it that evening at Angenoir.”
Unaware that anything unusual was unfolding, King Michael said he arrived at the club dressed in what he believed was his best outfit for the night. “I came to Angenoir wearing my new shoes, with chains and everything,” he said.
However, the mood changed when he approached Chameleone to greet him. Instead of the usual friendly exchange, King Michael said the singer seemed unusually focused on his footwear. “His mind was all on my shoes,” he explained.
Although Chameleone reportedly complimented the shoes, King Michael believes he unknowingly escalated the situation when he stamped the shoe on the floor while showing them off. “The mistake I did was stamping the shoe on the floor,” he said.
According to him, the gesture appeared to provoke Chameleone, who allegedly instructed members of his entourage to get the shoe for him. “He went and told his boys that they should do everything possible to get one shoe for him,” King Michael claimed.
The singer said he only realised what was happening hours later as he was leaving the club intoxicated. “I was leaving the club all drunk and the boys came to take my one shoe,” he said.
King Michael recalls that a scuffle broke out outside the club as he tried to resist. “I couldn’t give it up easily. A fight ensued, but they overpowered me and took one shoe.”In what he describes as the strangest part of the story, King Michael claims the captured shoe was later placed in Chameleone’s vehicle.
“Chameleone put it in his Escalade and drove around town with it,” he said.

The Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), a political pressure group led by Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has directed Members of Parliament-elect affiliated with the group to support the re-election of Anita Annet Among as Speaker and Thomas Tayebwa as Deputy Speaker in the upcoming leadership vote for Uganda’s 12th Parliament.
In a letter dated 11 March 2026, PLU Secretary General David Kabanda congratulated the newly elected legislators and urged them to back the candidates endorsed by the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Central Executive Committee.
Kabanda said the guidance followed consultations within the group under the slogan “Tuko Pamoja,” noting that PLU-aligned MPs should rally behind the ruling party’s chosen candidates.
The group specifically expressed its support for Among and Tayebwa to continue serving as Speaker and Deputy Speaker respectively.
Among has been Speaker since 2022 and is widely viewed as the leading contender to retain the position in the 12th Parliament. Her bid, alongside that of Tayebwa, received official backing from the NRM leadership, a move expected to strengthen their chances in the vote to elect the new parliamentary leadership.
Despite the endorsements, the contest for Speaker is not entirely uncontested. Norbert Mao, who leads the Democratic Party and serves as Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, has also expressed interest in the position.
Others are Lydia Wanyoto, Persis Namuganza, Yorke Odria Alioni, and Florence Asiimwe Akiiki. The election of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of Parliament is scheduled for May, 2026.
Financing Company for Development (FMO), the Dutch Entrepreneurial Development Bank, has extended a USD 20 million senior unsecured facility to I&M Bank (Uganda) Limited to support lending to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across a wide range of sectors. The facility includes an initial USD 10 million senior debt commitment, representing the first tranche of a total USD 20 million facility.
The announcement was made on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at the I&M Bank Uganda Head Office at Kingdom Kampala. The event was attended by representatives from the Dutch Embassy in Uganda, led by Corinne Abbas- First Secretary, Economic Cooperation, the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs- led by Natalie den Breugom- Deputy Director, Sustainable Economic Development, the Dutch Ministry of Finance, led by Rene Idzenga- Head of State of Enterprises, as well as members of FMO led by Huib-Jan de Ruijter-Co-Chief Investment Officer.

The I&M Bank delegation, led by the CEO- Robin Bairstow, also included customers whose businesses operate in sectors aligned with FMO’s areas of interest, including SMEs, sustainability, and women in business.
The transaction will provide flexible financing and support decent work and reduced inequalities, in line with Sustainable Development Goals 8 and 10. It also qualifies for FMO’s 100% Reducing Inequalities label.
FMO’s financing is directed exclusively to I&M Bank’s Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) segment, with a focus on facilities for the unbanked, including women-owned businesses and agricultural enterprises.
According to Robin Bairstow, CEO of I&M Bank (Uganda) Limited, the bank has a strong track record of supporting SMEs through agriculture, women, and youth-led tailored solutions that have driven business and economic growth.
“At I&M Bank Uganda, SMEs are not a peripheral segment — they are central to our growth strategy and to Uganda’s broader economic transformation. We’ve been supporting SMEs with diverse tailored financial products, asset financing, capacity-building initiatives, financial literacy, and other solutions. Through the recently concluded Tukikube ne I&M Bank campaign, we offered asset financing and structured financial literacy sessions that equipped entrepreneurs with both capital and knowledge to scale sustainably,” noted Bairstow.

Uganda’s deejay fraternity has received a major boost after the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) handed over Shs110 million to support their activities, marking another step in the federation’s push to strengthen different sectors of the music industry.
The funds were delivered by UNMF president Eddy Kenzo during a brief handover ceremony at the federation offices, where leaders of the deejay community gathered to witness the milestone.
The cheque was officially received by Nimrod Nabeeta, the president of the Deejays Association, who described the contribution as a timely intervention for an industry that plays a critical role in promoting Ugandan music.
Deejays have long been considered the backbone of music promotion in Uganda, acting as the bridge between artists and audiences in clubs, concerts, radio stations, and online platforms. Yet despite their influence, many have often complained about limited institutional support.
Kenzo said the federation remains committed to ensuring that every player in the music ecosystem benefits from collective efforts aimed at growing the industry.
The Shs110 million contribution comes shortly after the federation extended support to musicians from Western Uganda, a move that signaled UNMF’s intention to spread resources across different regions and groups within the entertainment sector.
For the deejays, the funding represents more than just financial assistance. It is also seen as recognition of their role in shaping Uganda’s vibrant music culture.
Shortly after receiving the cheque, Nimrod took to social media to express his appreciation for the support and what it could mean for the future of the deejay fraternity.
“One of the things I love to do is help fellow deejays achieve their dreams and goals. Thanks to the UNMF and Eddy Kenzo for lobbying funds to support the deejay industry. God did,” he posted.
The funds are expected to support capacity-building initiatives, professional development, and projects aimed at improving the welfare of deejays across the country.
