One of Uganda’s female renowned deejays, DJ City Girl, has opened up about one thing she strongly dislikes about the Ugandan showbiz industry.

Speaking about her experience in the entertainment scene, the DJ revealed that what bothers her most is the “kamanyiro”—a Luganda term often used to describe over-familiarity or people acting too entitled around someone.

According to City Girl, some people in the industry tend to become overly entitled, something she says she does not appreciate.

“What I dislike about the industry is the ‘kamanyiro’ from people.”

Albeit that challenge, the DJ says her overall experience in the industry has been largely positive.

She explained that although the number of female deejays is still relatively small, she has received a warm welcome since stepping into the spotlight.

The industry has been welcoming, though we are a few ladies. I’ve received such a warm welcome, and I’m loving how the crowd responds to me, as well as the opportunities it brings.

City Girl continues to grow her presence in Uganda’s entertainment scene, gaining attention for her talent behind the decks and the energy she brings to events.

Singer A Pass has revealed a little-known chapter of his life, sharing that he once played rugby before fully committing to his music career.

During an interview on NBS Plus, A Pass spoke about his past involvement in sports, noting that he used to play rugby casually while growing up, even though football was his main game at the time.

A Pass said his connection to rugby was partly influenced by people he admired in the sport, including Ugandan rugby star Philip Wokorach, who recently retired from international rugby.

Some of the people that are actually the people that I looked up to is like Wokorach who retired recently. Wokorach and I used to share boots, that’s how crazy it was though I was playing more football and he was playing rugby.

He also opened up about the rugby team he used to admire while growing up. According to him, he was a fan of Heathens Rugby Club, particularly during the years when the club was performing strongly.

Probably now I don’t know how they are playing because I haven’t been following, but it was the team that I looked at a lot.

However, A Pass admitted that he has not been actively following rugby or attending matches in recent years. He acknowledged that he feels he has not done enough to support Ugandan sports and hopes to change that.

I haven’t really gone to the matches, I haven’t really seen as much but I definitely have to do that. I feel I haven’t supported enough the Ugandan sports. It’s one thing I think I should do more.

Taking to her Snapchat, Sheilah expressed frustration with how people react when couples show affection in public.

Sheilah has previously been involved in several high-profile relationships and has never shied away from expressing affection publicly. Her most recent relationship was with singer Rickman Manrick.

During their time together, the two often appeared comfortable showing affection in public, whether through hugs, kisses, or cozy moments shared during events and outings.

Big Eye surprised many fans on March 8 when he publicly unveiled Inaya on his social media pages while celebrating women across the world. Along with the post, he also shared photos showing that the two share a child together.

Speaking about the decision to finally reveal her, Big Eye explained that their relationship is not new and that they have actually been together for quite some time.

I showed you my person on Women’s Day and thanked her for how she loves me and you saw we also have a child so that should tell you how long we have been together. I can’t tell you the specific time of how long we have been together but just know I have had her and she isn’t of recent.

He noted that introducing her to the public was long overdue and felt it was the right moment to show appreciation to the woman he described as his partner and the mother of his children.

According to Big Eye, the move was also meant to publicly thank her for the love and support she has shown him over the years.

I picked her because we bonded well. She’s my friend and I see she has the qualities I need that I can’t break down. Some people might pick them and set themselves knowing what I like.

He added that the strong bond they share makes him confident about their relationship, saying he is certain about the kind of partner he chose.

 Ava Peace has opened up about why she doesn’t consider any fellow female musicians among her closest friends in the music industry.

Speaking during an appearance on the Now Media UG podcast, Ava Peace explained that while she has worked with several female artists and maintains a cordial relationship with them, most of those interactions remain strictly professional.

I don’t have. I have worked with several but I don’t talk to them, it’s just business. Of course I find them and say hi but we don’t talk.

Over the years, the singer has often been seen hanging out with artists such as Jowy Landa and Nandor Love, which has sparked speculation among fans that they share close friendships.

However, Ava Peace clarified that despite the friendly interactions, none of them fall into her inner circle as best friends.

She also addressed her relationship with Winnie Nwagi, with whom she scored one of the biggest collaborations of last year titled “Batuleke.”

Despite the success of the song and her admiration for Nwagi, Ava Peace noted that the two are not best friends.

According to her, respect and inspiration do not necessarily translate into close personal friendships.
