Azawi has spoken out to shut down claims that Zafaran has left Swangz Avenue, insisting the singer is still part of the label and simply taking time to find her direction.
Speaking during an interview, Azawi described Zafaran as a “super talented” artist and made it clear that letting her go is not even on the table.
“She is still very much involved, but sometimes you need to give yourself time to figure out what you really want to do, and she is still in that phase,” Azawi said. “I’m praying for her to get her calling, direction and guidance that she needs because she is an amazing talent.”
Zafaran, who joined Swangz Avenue in 2022, has long been tipped as one of the promising voices to watch, but many fans have questioned why she has not yet had a major breakthrough moment under the label.
The speculation recently intensified, with rumors suggesting she had quietly exited. However, Azawi dismissed the claims, painting a picture of an artist still connected to the team, just not as musically active as expected.
“We talk, and every time we meet, the first thing I ask her is why she doesn’t give us music,” Azawi revealed. “I’m always on her neck, and she gives me all sorts of excuses, but I have to remind her every time we meet.”
Her remarks suggest that the delay is less about label issues and more about Zafaran navigating her artistic identity, a phase many creatives go through before defining their sound.
