The return of Kampala Crème is already stirring anticipation across Uganda’s entertainment scene, but beyond the glitz and drama, this new season arrives at a turning point, especially following the departure of fan favorite Mami Deb.
For many viewers, her exit left a noticeable gap in the show’s dynamic. Known for her commanding presence and ability to anchor both conflict and conversation, Mami Deb’s absence raised one big question: who could possibly step into that space and hold their own?
Enter Tamara Kainembabazi.
Bold, sharp witted and unapologetically modern, Tamara joins the cast as the show’s newest addition, bringing with her a fresh energy that signals a shift in tone and power. According to Hassan Saleh, Chief Executive Officer of MultiChoice Uganda, the introduction of a new cast member was a deliberate move to keep the show fresh and reflective of changing narratives.
“We are intentional about telling stories that are bold and authentically Ugandan. The introduction of a new cast member adds an exciting layer that will keep viewers engaged from start to finish,” he noted.
Producer Judithiana Namazzi Ndugwa describes this season as the most aspirational yet, promising a deeper dive into the hustle behind the glamour. Beyond the drama, audiences will see the realities of ambition, influence and identity as the women navigate their personal and professional worlds.
With Tamara stepping into a space left open by Mummy Deb, the show is clearly not looking to replicate what was, but to redefine what comes next.
