Azawi has shared her vision for the Ugandan music industry, revealing what she would prioritize if she were elected president of all Ugandan musicians.
In a one-on-one conversation, she mentioned that her first move would be to subsidise the industry. According to her, the cost of operating within the music space is too high, and reducing key expenses would make it easier for creatives to thrive.
She also noted the need for performance grounds and creator hubs, pointing to Kenya as an example where artists, actors, writers, and other creatives have designated spaces to nurture and showcase their talent.
Azawi further noted that she would push for partnerships with streaming platforms. She explained that she would engage them in discussions to explore the possibility of creating a dedicated Ugandan slot where local music can be easily accessed and streamed.
In addition, she stressed the importance of making internet access more affordable so that streaming becomes accessible to a wider audience.
On governance, she did not hold back her criticism of Uganda’s current leadership, expressing frustration with what she described as a disconnect between leaders and modern realities.

She went on to question the priorities of elected officials, suggesting that many focus more on personal gain than public service.
