Sandra Bullock Reveals Shocking Hollywood Audition Experiences

Sandra Bullock has revealed just how uncomfortable some of her early Hollywood auditions became.

The Oscar winner told Jennifer Aniston that she once found herself auditioning for casting figures who expected her to cross boundaries simply to land a role.

Bullock recalled her early days as a struggling actor in New York.

I was in New York, I was a waitress, I was auditioning for every pervert that existed asking me to drop my pants. I was like, ‘Nope, not the role for me.’

The actress said she learned early that she had to protect herself while trying to build a career.

Every working actor thinks you will never work again so you just take what you can get and make the most of it.

Bullock also revealed that she later made another major career decision when she stepped away from romantic comedies.

After years of starring in the genre, she felt audiences and the industry had started to box her in.

The only time I was intentional about my career was when I said, ‘I need to stop right now with the rom-coms,’ because I was getting so much shit for them.

She then took a dramatic role in “Crash,” a move that helped change how Hollywood viewed her.

Bullock eventually returned to romantic comedies, but she now says she misses the freedom to work in that genre.

Now more than ever, I miss that. I want to do nothing but that now.

The actress made the revelations while speaking with Aniston for Interview magazine.
