Ava Peace is putting Uganda’s female artists firmly in the top-tier conversation.
The Ugandan songstress, born Namugonza Maureen Peace, says female stars have become such a force that leaving a woman out of Uganda’s top three artists would be almost impossible.
Speaking on NBS After 5, Ava pointed to the work female artists are putting into their careers and the recognition they now receive from the industry.
You cannot name three top Ugandan artists without naming a female artist, which means we are at least really hardworking.
She believes female artists have also become smarter about navigating the industry and are getting the proper recognition their work deserves.
We are very smart now. I believe we are doing very well, and I believe the industry is now perceiving us very well.
Ava did not name her top three, leaving music fans with one obvious question: which female artists would make the cut?
