Kataleya & Kandle reveal truth behind ‘gifted’ BMW – Sqoop

Singing duo Kataleya & Kandle have opened up about a bizarre incident involving a BMW they believed had been given to them as a reward for their work, only to see the vehicle disappear days later.

The duo say the incident happened months ago during what they thought was a routine content shoot. They were reportedly invited by YouTuber Brown Sugar to a beachside location to film a challenge linked to one of their songs.

Instead, they arrived to an elaborate setup featuring a brand-new white BMW, large bouquets of flowers and media cameras. The vehicle reportedly carried a label bearing their names, convincing the singers that the car was a genuine gift.

Their excitement was immediate.

“We saw the car and we saw the label with our name. We screamed so much because we were excited for the car. We thanked him, drove it around and were with it for like a week,” the duo recalled.

For several days, Kataleya & Kandle enjoyed the vehicle, even as questions circulated online about whether the highly publicised presentation was genuine.

Their excitement soon turned into confusion when the BMW was taken away.

The singers said they were initially given little explanation and were later told that the vehicle had been recalled. It was only afterwards, they claim, that they realised the presentation had allegedly been part of a publicity stunt rather than an actual gift.

“I don’t even think it was a full week with it and it disappeared. When we asked about it, they didn’t tell us anything. It was all about the media,” they said.

The experience left the duo feeling misled, particularly because they had believed the car was theirs.

“The car was a view once. We were happy because we worked so hard, but it was all for the media. If it was PR, she would have told us something so we know,” they said.

The singers have now linked the incident to their broader frustrations during their time under former manager Ray Pan.

Not long after the BMW episode, Kataleya & Kandle announced that they were parting ways with Ray Pan, although they did not publicly disclose the reasons for ending their working relationship at the time.

The duo’s account now offers a glimpse into some of the experiences they say contributed to their dissatisfaction during that period.
