Hon. Evelyn Anite has shared tips on how couples can successfully maintain long-distance relationships, revealing that she is currently in one herself.
Taking to her TikTok, the former Member of Parliament for Koboko Municipality explained that communication and consistency are some of the most important things couples need to keep their relationships strong when they are separated by distance.

She advised partners to make it a habit to communicate every day, including sending a message to their loved one in the morning after waking up and another at night before going to bed.
“Communicate. You have to always be transparent and communicate with your partner,” she advised, emphasizing the importance of staying in touch despite the physical distance.
According to her, couples in long-distance relationships should make an effort to remain present in each other’s lives because a lack of communication can create room for disconnection.
When you’re not in touch, out of mind is out of sight.
She also acknowledged that there are many attractive people who could potentially come into a relationship, but believes maintaining regular communication can help couples remain connected and committed to each other.
There are so many beautiful and good-looking people out there who are willing to snatch your partner, but if you keep in touch with them, they don’t get a chance to even think about other people.
Hon. Anite further cautioned couples against dishonesty, noting that trust is another important foundation for making a long-distance relationship work.
“Do not tell lies, because if you do, you’ll lose them,” she said.
