Pallaso could soon trade the microphone for boxing gloves, with Uganda Boxing Federation president (UBF) Moses Muhangi revealing that the singer is “100% ready” to step into the ring.
The question now is who will take the other corner, and Muhangi already has a few names in mind.
There is what we call matchmaking, so we try to identify different celebrity fighters. Pallaso is a very good friend of mine and he is 100% ready. If we see people who can box with him, it could be either Alien Skin, King Saha, or maybe Shakib, if he allows.
The idea would fit right into Uganda’s growing celebrity boxing scene, which has already produced plenty of entertainment outside the usual music and television rivalries.
Socialite Shakib Cham Lutaaya has faced media veteran JK Kazoora, while singers Grenade Official and Rickman Manrick went head-to-head during the 2024 Uganda Boxing Champions League climax.
More recently, media personalities Prima Kardashi and Zahara Totto took their long-running reality television and social media feud into the ring at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo.
Pallaso could now bring another major music rivalry into the mix.
How the Matchmaking Works
Muhangi says he personally handles the matchmaking, approaching celebrities he believes could work for a particular fight.
Right now, I am the one who does the matchmaking because I am the vision bearer. I am the one who decides what comes next, and most of the people who come and fight are personal friends of mine, so I am the one who approaches them.
That leaves Muhangi with one job in Pallaso’s case: find someone from the shortlist who is willing to step up.
In the case of Pallaso, I know he is ready, so I am the one supposed to get him an opponent from one of the names I have mentioned.
Once a challenger agrees, the two sides can settle the date, terms and other details before the promotional campaign begins.
If we get an opponent who is ready, then we can agree on the date, terms and details, and then we start promoting the event.
So far, Pallaso has the gloves ready and Muhangi has the shortlist. The missing piece is the celebrity willing to face him.
