Voltage Music duo Kent & Flosso have revealed that their noticeable absence from releasing new music over the past three years was a deliberate decision, despite remaining active behind the scenes.
Speaking on Magic One TV, the pair explained that while fans may have felt their silence, they were still recording music and performing at various shows during that period.
However, they admitted they were largely out of touch with what was happening in Uganda’s entertainment scene, especially the ongoing drama and controversies.
According to the duo, their focus shifted away from local industry noise as they spent much of their time abroad.
Our break was deliberate, we won’t lie. We got some problems, we lost our manager, lost producer Skillz, and then we had some family issues too. Me (Kent), I lost my baby, so it was a lot of crazy stuff.
The emotional toll of these personal and professional setbacks contributed significantly to their decision to step back from the spotlight.
Despite the challenges, Kent & Flosso emphasized that their passion for music never faded. They continued to spend time in the studio, quietly building a catalog of songs that they are now ready to release.
In addition, the duo noted that they remained relevant enough to keep receiving bookings for performances, showing that their fan base stayed loyal even during their hiatus.
