Lwasa abandons Islam, credits Pastor Kakande for healing from diabetes

Former Masaka-based businessman Emmanuel Lwasa has announced his return to Christianity, just months after converting to Islam and adopting the name Akram.

Lwasa had previously revealed that he had embraced Islam at Kibuli Mosque, changing his name from Emmanuel to Akram. At the time, his decision was reportedly influenced by his then-girlfriend, Nash Glow.

In a new development, however, Lwasa says he has now turned back to Christianity following what he describes as a miraculous healing from diabetes at Pastor Samuel Kakande’s church.

According to Lwasa, he had been battling diabetes for some time and had grown increasingly worried about his health. He claims to have tried various treatments without success before being advised to seek help from the church.

I didn’t know that I would fall under an anointing. All my sickness left my body, and they told me not to go home.

They told me to go to the hospital for a checkup again, and I realized I was now fine. Pastor Kakande healed me, and I can testify to this.

He added that following the experience, he has made the decision to fully return to Christianity and abandon his Islamic faith.

As part of that shift, Lwasa also said he is willing to give away all his Muslim attire, noting that he no longer intends to wear it.
