The Ugandan entertainment space has been marred by debates about the contribution of emcees and deejays, with either side taunting the other.
The debate seems to have caused a bigger divide between both entertainer groups.
According to DJ Trizzy Vybz, though, such differences should never be accommodated because both deejays and emcees are part of the same experience.
He urges them instead to focus on bettering their craft and complement each other because they can successfully co-exist if each understands and masters their role.
There shouldn’t be a “war” between deejays and emcees. We’re all part of the same experience. Everyone should focus on their craft and express themselves the way they feel, because at the end of the day, music is a feeling.
When a DJ and an MC understand that, they don’t compete…they complement each other. It’s not about who’s louder or more seen, it’s about the energy we create together.
