For months, the tension between Ziza Bafana and Eddy Kenzo was widely interpreted as a disagreement rooted in structures of power, particularly within the Uganda National Musicians Federation(UNMF) and the SACCO.
But that narrative is now being challenged from within Kenzo’s own camp.
Speaking during an interview on Spark TV, Martin Beta, Eddy Kenzo’s manager and a key figure behind his operations, offered a different perspective, one that strips away the institutional framing and replaces it with something more direct and personal.
“The problem is with Eddy,” he stated bluntly. “At first we thought his issues were with the institution… but at the end of it all, we realized he has it with Eddy.” He said during an interview with Spark TV.
Beta paints it as a conflict centered on Kenzo as an individual, his position, his achievements, and his life.
Martin Beta also added that Bafana’s issue stems from the fact that Eddy Kenzo is the president of the federation, a fact he cannot stand. Kenzo has a BET, he’s in the Grammys, and he also has a wife who is a minister. With all this, Martin Beta says Ziza Bafana has a lot to deal with.
