The dance industry in Uganda is set to unite as Dancemamweta and Black Culture Academy Uganda host the two-day Own The Floor Dance Camp in May.

Own The Floor Dance Camp is where energy meets expression, a space for dancers and people who love to dance to train, vibe, and own their moment on the dance floor.
Dancemamweta, real name Careen Mamweta, is a popular dancer, choreographer, and brand influencer, known for her work with numerous top African artists.
She has always outlined her vision for Ugandan dance, and Own The Floor Dance Camp is proof of her effort, together with Black Culture Academy Uganda, for celebrated dancers to come together for this event.
The two-day dance camp running form 15th to 16th May 2026 at MOTIV, Bugolobi, aims to build a strong community of dancers across Uganda and beyond by creating opportunities for learning, exposure, and artistic expression through dance, with some of Uganda’s great choreographers.
We start early, from 9am to 8pm.

Dancemamweta will be teaching Afro-fusion with Abaddie Gyal on top of the other dance styles that will be taught at the camp, including: Amapiano, Dancehall, Movement, Waacking Dance, Heels Class, Break Dance, and Ndombolo Dance.
