Jowy Landa breaks silence on bitter fallout with Black Shuga – Sqoop

Singer Jowy Landa, born Joan Namugerwa, has broken her silence on her widely talked-about fallout with fellow singer and media personality Black Shuga, revealing a friendship that she says unraveled painfully.

The tension between the two began a few months ago after Jowy reportedly failed to perform at one of Black Shuga’s events, a moment that quickly escalated into a public fallout. Since then, the former friends have remained at odds, with their relationship deteriorating both privately and online.

Speaking about the situation, Jowy Landa painted a picture of a friendship she believed was built on loyalty and support. She claims that during their time as friends, she often showed up for Shuga without expecting anything in return, including performing at her events free of charge.

“I used to support her fully, even performing at her events without asking for payment,” she revealed.

However, things took a turn when she decided to ask for facilitation for one of the events, a request she says did not sit well with Black Shuga and ultimately triggered the fallout.

According to Jowy, what followed were repeated attacks directed at her on social media, something she says deeply affected her, not just personally, but also within her family.

One of the most painful moments, she shared, was when her mother came across the online insults.

“It hurt me so much seeing my mother cry after reading those things,” she said, describing it as one of the most heartbreaking experiences she has faced.

Jowy also recalled moments from their friendship that, to her, symbolized how close they once were, including an incident where she offered Shuga a place to stay after she lost her house keys during a night out.

Looking back, the singer says the experience has changed how she approaches relationships, especially in the public eye.

“I lost trust in friends,” she admitted, advising fans to be more cautious. “Love people from a distance. It saves you a lot of problems.”

Her revelations add another layer to the ongoing narrative surrounding the two personalities, whose fallout has continued to play out both publicly and emotionally.

As of now, Black Shuga has not issued a response to Jowy Landa’s latest claims.
