Spice promises full Uganda experience after last year’s no-show – Sqoop

After leaving fans hanging last year, Jamaican dancehall star Spice is making a heartfelt comeback and this time, she is not just showing up, she is settling in.

In an interview on NBS TV, the “So Mi Like It” hitmaker offered a sincere apology to fans, acknowledging the disappointment caused by her absence.

“I first want to apologize for not coming last year,” she said. “I want to apologize to everyone that was disappointed.”

But beyond the apology, Spice came with reassurance and a promise of something bigger.

She confirmed she will headline the highly anticipated show on May 9, but with a notable shift from the usual routine of international acts.

“I can guarantee you that I will be there on the 9th of May… in fact, I’m coming before that. I think I’ll be there from the 4th of May. I’m coming for a whole week,” she revealed.

In what many fans are already describing as a refreshing move, the dancehall queen says she plans to immerse herself fully in Uganda’s culture rather than make a brief appearance.

“I want to experience everything, eat the food, and hug my fans. I just want to enjoy the culture,” she shared.

Her extended stay signals a more personal connection with her Ugandan audience, offering fans more than just a stage performance but a chance to engage with her beyond the spotlight.

After last year’s abrupt cancellation, all eyes will now be on May 9 as Spice looks to turn disappointment into a memorable comeback.
