Rapper Navio has called on fans to rethink how they experience live performances, urging them to put their phones down and be present in the moment.
Speaking candidly, Navio pointed out how concert culture has shifted over the years. Where audiences once connected face-to-face with artists, today’s crowds are increasingly hidden behind glowing screens, focused more on recording than experiencing.
“Sometimes when you are performing, people are putting up their phones. Before we used to see their faces, now we see their phones,” he said.
For Navio, the change takes away from the energy that makes live music special. He acknowledges that fans want to capture memories, especially when watching an artist they admire, but believes it often comes at the cost of genuine connection.
“As soon as you come on stage, people want to record it. I want them to enjoy it since they are already watching me live,” he explained.
Rather than endless phone recordings, the rapper suggested a more balanced approach, where professional footage can preserve the moment, allowing fans to simply immerse themselves in the experience.
“I wish we could get the professional camera and maybe download the whole show after. Be in the moment and enjoy it,” he added.
His remarks have sparked conversation among music lovers, tapping into a growing debate about whether modern audiences are truly present at concerts or just documenting them for later.
