On his list of favourite Ugandan artists today, Kapeke highlights what a talented artist Mimi Kampala is and urges other artists to pull up their socks and become more competitive.
Never shy of speaking his mind, Kapeke has stated that most local artists are not very competitive and the reason why their music struggles to gain airplay.

He made the comments during an interview on Galaxy TV when asked to mention five artists whose music he loves and listens to a lot lately.
The singer noted that besides his own music, he barely listens to other Ugandan music playing.
With due respect, artists lately are no longer as competitive. They are in the studio working tirelessly, but I don’t get to listen to their songs. Everywhere I go, even on the streets, it’s my music I hear. They are not competitive; they just sing for the sake of singing
Kapeke went on to list Fik Fameica, Vyroota, and Mimi Kampala as the other artists who are doing great in Uganda today.
I would say Vyroota, Fik Fameica, Kapeke, and Mimi Kampala. Mimi Kampala is a great artist, and she is here to stay. When I called her out to perform at the Zzina Carnival, the reaction from the crowd showed that they loved her. Fellow female artists should be very keen and aware of that girl.
