Jamaica’s celebrated Queen of Dancehall, Spice, paid a courtesy visit to the Buganda Kingdom Headquarters at Bulange, where she met the Katikkiro, Owek. Charles Peter Mayiga, ahead of her highly anticipated performance in Uganda.
The internationally acclaimed singer, shared a warm and engaging moment with the Buganda Prime Minister as they discussed several issues centered on culture, tourism, and the power of the arts.
During the meeting, the two emphasized the importance of international artistic collaborations, noting that global performers help attract worldwide attention while opening doors for tourism promotion, cultural exchange, and investment opportunities.
Speaking about the visit, Mayiga expressed appreciation for the artist’s presence in Uganda.
“I had the pleasure of hosting the Jamaican Queen of Dancehall, Spice, at the Kingdom Headquarters, Bulange. Her presence in Uganda is a powerful reminder of how global cultural icons can elevate our visibility on the world stage.”
Mayiga also applauded Spice’s collaboration with the Uganda Tourism Board and the Buganda Heritage and Tourism Board, highlighting efforts aimed at showcasing Uganda’s beauty to the world.
Part of this initiative included a tour of the Kasubi Royal Tombs, one of Buganda’s most treasured cultural heritage sites.
