Ugandan rapper Feffe Bussi has sparked fresh debate in the music industry after boldly calling out fellow hip-hop artists for what he describes as laziness and fear of the grind.
Speaking during an interview on the Keep It a Hunned 100 YouTube channel, the “Who is Who” hitmaker didn’t hold back, taking direct aim at the very genre that built his name.
According to Feffe, many rappers are too comfortable in their circles, choosing applause from friends over the pressure of real audiences.
“Hip-hop rappers are lazy, and if I were only doing hip-hop, I wouldn’t be here,” he said bluntly.
He went further, contrasting them with artists from other genres whom he believes are putting in far more work and showing greater hunger to succeed.
“These other artists from other genres are so hungry for what they are doing. Hip Hop rappers fear cameras; they fear going to shows.”
In Feffe’s view, the problem isn’t talent but mindset. He argues that too many rappers prefer the safety of small, familiar spaces where their bars are celebrated without challenge.
“I think they feel comfortable rapping to their friends who will praise them.”
