Wedding rumours swirled around singer Lydia Jazmine over the weekend after what appeared to be a private nikkah ceremony sent social media into a frenzy.
The speculation gained momentum when some of the singer’s close associates, among them Karma Bae and Melissa Mulungi, shared stunning images dressed as bridesmaids, posing alongside Lydia Jazmine in scenes that strongly resembled an intimate wedding celebration.
The posts, accompanied by congratulatory messages and heartfelt captions, quickly convinced many fans that the “Masuka” singer had quietly exchanged vows and chosen to keep the ceremony away from the public eye.
As excitement mounted online, congratulatory messages poured in, with many admirers celebrating what they believed was the beginning of a new chapter in the singer’s life.
However, the buzz later took an unexpected turn after it emerged that the widely discussed ceremony was not a wedding after all, but part of the visuals for Lydia Jazmine’s upcoming song, “Ameenallah.”
Addressing the viral speculation through Snapchat, the singer admitted the team had intentionally created an atmosphere convincing enough to keep fans guessing. She jokingly apologised to those who had been misled, while teasing that when the time for an actual introduction ceremony comes, it will be even more spectacular.
In her message, Lydia Jazmine also reflected on the overwhelming support she received, saying the incident revealed the people who genuinely celebrate her happiness.
She suggested that although this turned out to be a music video concept, a real “Mukolo” may not be too far off, thanking supporters for the love and warm wishes they sent her way.
While some fans laughed off the mix-up, others praised the singer’s creativity, saying the stunt successfully built anticipation for “Ameenallah” and proved just how easily Ugandans can rally behind celebrity love stories.
