The highly anticipated Shady Mixtape Party Season 8 lived up to the hype this past weekend after officially selling out, drawing an unprecedented crowd of music lovers to Berwick Manor Hotel in London.
Organised by Shady Entertainment Limited, founded by celebrated UK-based Ugandan deejay DJ Shady, the annual event once again proved its growing influence among the Ugandan diaspora and music enthusiasts from across the globe.
According to organisers, all tickets were snapped up within hours of release, setting a new record for the event and underscoring the growing demand for one of London’s biggest Ugandan entertainment experiences.
The two-day celebration buzzed with excitement as revellers enjoyed electrifying performances from some of Uganda’s top music stars across different genres, ranging from Afrobeats and dancehall to soulful R&B.
Among the standout performers were Azawi, Geosteady, Karole Kasita, Ziza Bafana, Maddox, and Vinka, alongside several other acts who kept crowds entertained through what organisers described as record-breaking nights.
Fans sang along to hit songs, danced late into the night, and soaked in an atmosphere many described as vibrant, nostalgic, and deeply connected to Ugandan culture.
“We’re absolutely thrilled with the turnout and the incredible atmosphere,” said DJ Shady.
“The support from the community and Ugandans back home has been overwhelming, and we’re already planning an even bigger and better vibe fest for next year,” he added.
The success of this year’s edition further cements the Shady Mixtape Party as more than just a music event, but a cultural gathering that continues to bridge Ugandans in the diaspora with home through music, entertainment, and shared experiences.
With another sold-out edition now in the books, the event is steadily solidifying its place as one of the premier Ugandan cultural and entertainment experiences in London and beyond.
