Police are searching for former Obsessions music group manager Ronnie Mulindwa following a raid that uncovered what investigators describe as an online prostitution and adult streaming operation in Kampala.
The operation was conducted by the Directorate of Crime Intelligence, leading to the arrest of 27 young women suspected of participating in the scheme.
According to investigators, the women were found inside a building where they were allegedly being stripped and filmed for online streaming services targeting audiences abroad. Police say many of the women had been recruited from various districts, including Mukono, Kampala, Lyantonde, Wakiso, Masaka, and parts of Busoga.
Authorities allege that Mulindwa operated the network alongside Martin Male and a woman identified only as Zeisha. The trio is currently on the run.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Rachel Kawala confirmed that investigations are ongoing and efforts to apprehend the suspects have been intensified.
“We have also arrested a security guard who was guarding the location,” Kawala said.
Among those arrested was Vivian Gobera, whom police identified as Mulindwa’s girlfriend. During questioning, she reportedly told investigators that recruited women were assigned new identities to prevent relatives and acquaintances from recognizing them online.
Gobera further revealed that the operation primarily targeted clients in Western countries and that access to the streams was allegedly blocked in Uganda and other East African nations.
Investigators also established that, beyond online streaming, some of the women were reportedly hired to entertain wealthy clients at private parties in Kampala, Wakiso, and Mukono. Others were allegedly sent to high-end hotels to entertain guests.
Police say investigations are still underway as they work to locate and arrest the suspects believed to be behind the operation.
