Media personality and DJ Lynda Ddane has revealed that she has no problem spending her hard-earned money on the man she loves, pushing back against societal expectations that men should always be the providers in relationships.
Recently, Lynda and her boyfriend, DJ KasBaby, were spotted enjoying a getaway in Malaysia, sparking conversations online about who funded the lavish trip.
Addressing the matter during a press interview, Lynda confirmed that she solely sponsored the trip as a birthday treat for KasBaby, saying she simply wanted him to enjoy himself.
“Times have changed. People speaking like this are just broke, but if you have money, spend it,” Lynda said.
“That is how I am; you have seen me give my own friends, how about the person I’m in a relationship with? It is my character, and I have no problem with that.”
Lynda dismissed traditional beliefs that only men should spend money on women in relationships, arguing that generosity should not be tied to gender, especially when one can afford it.
According to the media personality, many women who criticize such gestures are approaching relationships from what she described as a “poverty point of view.”
She explained that she sees herself as a natural giver and has, on several occasions, gifted even her close female friends, making it easy for her to extend the same generosity to her partner.
“I work hard so the money will come back. Usually, when you do such things, you do not think about that side; you just enjoy it,” she explained.
“I do not see it as an investment; I just wanted him to have a good time with me, and that is all I care about.”
Her remarks have since sparked debate online, with some praising her generosity and modern outlook on relationships, while others questioned whether such financial dynamics are sustainable in romantic partnerships.
