The absence of rapper Feffe Bussi at Karole Kasita’s Power Within concert over the weekend left many fans asking questions, especially given the pair’s long history of collaborations and once-close friendship.
For years, Feffe Bussi and Karole Kasita shared undeniable chemistry both on stage and in the studio, delivering a string of hit songs that fueled speculation they were more than just music partners.
Their closeness often sparked dating rumours, with many fans convinced there was something deeper between them during the early years of their rise in Uganda’s music industry.
However, according to Feffe Bussi, that chapter is now firmly in the past.
Speaking about his noticeable absence from Karole’s highly attended concert at Serena Hotel, the rapper revealed that the two have barely spoken in nearly a year.
In a light-hearted tone, Feffe jokingly suggested that the distance may have something to do with Karole’s partner.
“I have spent like a year without speaking to her because her man is very tough, so I left them in peace,” he said with a laugh.
Despite the speculation surrounding his absence, Feffe insisted there was no bad blood between them.
The rapper explained that he had already committed to another performance in Kalangala on the same day, making it difficult to return to Kampala in time for the concert.
According to him, transport limitations, particularly ferry schedules, prevented him from making the trip back despite efforts to do so.
“I was far away from Kampala. I had a show in Kalangala, and even when I tried, I was limited by the ferry services and had to wait,” he explained.
His remarks have added a fresh twist to a relationship that fans have followed closely over the years.
While many had expected him to make a surprise appearance at one of Karole Kasita’s biggest shows yet, Feffe’s comments suggest the two artists may have naturally drifted apart as their personal lives evolved.
Karole Kasita, however, appeared unfazed by his absence.
The singer said she has learned not to stress over situations beyond her control, insisting that Feffe’s failure to attend did not affect her focus on delivering a successful concert.
“It didn’t affect me in any way because one thing I learnt about this world is that you cannot control everything. I can only do what I’m supposed to do, and God does the rest,” she said.
She added that while she had invited him to perform, there was little she could do if circumstances prevented him from showing up.
For fans, however, Feffe’s absence only reignited curiosity about one of Uganda’s most talked-about musical friendships.
