Ugandan singer Joshua Baraka is mourning the death of his father, Pastor Okello Lawrence Habalu, who has passed on at the age of 57.
A death announcement circulating online confirmed that Pastor Okello, born on 2 May 1969, died on 7 June 2026. No cause of death has been disclosed.
The emotional announcement described him as a man “after God’s heart” and expressed deep sorrow over his passing, noting that he leaves behind family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.
Joshua Baraka also shared a heartfelt memory of an interview he once had with his father before his concert at Ndere Centre, alongside a tribute caption that read, “Rest easy my pastor.???”

The funeral and burial arrangements listed in the notice show that a church service will be held on Monday, 8 June, at Kamwokya Church of God at 3:00 PM, followed by burial on Tuesday, 9 June in Kayunga at 12:00 PM.
The news has drawn condolences from fans and well-wishers, with many sending messages of support to Joshua Baraka and the family as they prepare to lay their loved one to rest.
