Singer David Lutalo has opened up about the importance of DNA testing, saying he would rather address any paternity disputes during his lifetime than leave his family grappling with unanswered questions after his death.
Speaking in a recent interview, the “Kapapala” hitmaker said establishing the truth early can help families avoid unnecessary conflicts and prolonged legal battles.
Lutalo referenced the ongoing controversy surrounding the late Prince ajaob Paul Kafeero, whose remains were recently exhumed as part of efforts to determine the rightful beneficiaries of his estate.
According to the singer, the developments surrounding Kafeero’s estate serve as a reminder that men should not fear DNA tests whenever there is uncertainty over a child’s paternity.
He defended the decision to exhume the late musician’s remains, arguing that the exercise is necessary to ensure that only legitimate beneficiaries inherit what rightfully belongs to them.

In his view, it would be unfair for children who are biologically related to a deceased parent to miss out on their inheritance while individuals with no blood ties benefit from the estate.
Lutalo further revealed that over the years, several women have approached him claiming he fathered their children. However, he said some allegations surprised him because he had never met the mothers in question.
As a result, the singer maintained that any woman who believes he is the father of her child must be willing to undergo DNA testing.
He explained that confirming such matters while everyone involved is still alive is far better than leaving future generations to deal with disputes.
For Lutalo, death can come unexpectedly, which is why he prefers to settle sensitive family matters now rather than leave behind uncertainty and conflict.
