Juliana Kanyomozi to headline intimate ‘Sonic Soirée’ experience at Guvnor – Sqoop

As Kampala’s entertainment scene continues to gravitate towards smaller, live-band experiences, singer Juliana Kanyomozi is the latest established artiste to step into the format.

The award-winning vocalist will headline Sonic Soirée at Guvnor on Friday, June 12, joining a growing list of musicians opting for more intimate performances that place live instrumentation at the centre of the experience.

For an artiste whose career has largely been defined by major concerts and headline performances, the show presents an opportunity for audiences to experience Juliana’s music in a different setting.

She will be backed by the All Star Band featuring guitarist Myko Ouma, whose live arrangements have become increasingly visible across Uganda’s evolving live music circuit.

The event comes at a time when live sessions and band performances are enjoying renewed popularity in Kampala, with audiences increasingly embracing experiences that prioritize musicianship and interaction over elaborate stage productions.

Juliana’s catalogue, which spans more than two decades, is expected to form the backbone of the evening, with fans likely to revisit some of the songs that established her as one of Uganda’s most enduring female voices.

Organisers have released prices for the various ticket categories, offering attendees different options depending on their preferred experience.

The event is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. on Friday at Guvnor.
