Rebecca Jjingo speaks out against fans who inappropriately touch her on stage

Rebecca Jjingo

Singer and media personality Rebecca Jjingo has opened up about one of the things she dislikes most whenever she is performing on stage.

Speaking during an interview, Jjingo revealed that she is uncomfortable with fans who inappropriately touch her during performances, especially when they have not been invited on stage.

She explained that while she genuinely enjoys interacting and having fun with her fans, she believes such interactions should always remain respectful.

“I hate a fan who inappropriately touches me when I’m on stage. Things like patting my bum or touching my breasts upset me so much, especially if I haven’t invited you onto the stage. I love having fun with my fans, but there should be respect. I may not react in the moment, but it leaves a negative impression on me.”

Jjingo also reflected on a practice she disliked during her time performing with band groups.

She criticized the tendency of some lead artists to sideline fellow musicians who had spent time rehearsing as backing vocalists or instrumentalists, only to deny them the opportunity to perform on stage.

According to her, the practice was disrespectful to fellow artists, although she noted that it has become far less common in recent years..
