Lydia Jazmine: Stop Crediting Men for Women’s Success

Lydia Jazmine did not spend long enjoying her new Range Rover before familiar questions started circulating.

Who bought it?

According to the singer, whose real name is Lydia Nabawanuka, the reaction says a lot about how society views successful women.

Speaking during a recent interview, she dismissed suggestions that a wealthy man financed the vehicle, insisting she paid for it herself.

I work hard for what I have.

But Jazmine said the conversation quickly moved beyond the vehicle itself.

What bothered her most, she explained, was the assumption that a man must have financed the purchase.

Rather than seeing a woman enjoying the rewards of her work, she argued, many people immediately look for a man to credit.

Jazmine said the same pattern appears whenever a woman reaches a new milestone, with public attention often shifting from the achievement itself to speculation about who might be funding it.

To her, the Range Rover is not evidence of someone’s generosity. It is the result of years spent building her career and earning her own money.

For Jazmine, the episode highlights a mindset she believes continues to follow successful women whenever they achieve something significant.
