The latest episode of the Kampala Crème came with one big question: is Zahara Toto ready to share Umrah Murungi?
Because this week, it was not about outfits, luxury or who looked better, it was about friendship, loyalty and a little bit of jealousy.
For a while now, Zahara and Umrah have been the ultimate duo. They laugh together, move together and have built a friendship that looks almost unbreakable.
But the moment Umrah started getting closer to the other ladies, the mood changed.
And the girls had noticed.
Before the friendship drama exploded, Sheena Holm was busy serving fashion moments as she introduced Tamara Kainembabazi to her clothing line, She By Sheena.
Tamara got to try on some of Sheena’s stylish pieces, and while everyone could agree she looked good, Sheena had one small concern.
The model had the looks, the style and the beauty but she needed to find her confidence.
“She has the looks, she has the style, but she lacks confidence,” Sheena said.
But before the fashion show could even become the main story, the tea started pouring.
The ladies turned their attention to Umrah and her new connections.
According to Sheena, Umrah was trying to be everyone’s friend.
“She is not a bad person, but she will smile here and when Zahara asks, ‘Are you friends with those bitches?’ she will say no,” Sheena explained.
And that was enough for Zahara to call for a friendship meeting.
When the two sat down, it was giving serious bestie confrontation vibes.
Zahara arrived looking stunning in a pink armless dress with pearls around the neckline, while Umrah came through in a black jumpsuit and a fur crop jacket.
But forget the outfits, the real drama was the conversation.
Zahara went straight to the point.
“What is your friendship with all these fake bitches?” she asked.
Ouch!
But Umrah was calm. She explained that she was not replacing Zahara. She was simply trying to understand the other ladies and build connections.
Then came the plot twist.
Umrah revealed that she actually felt Zahara was the only real friend she currently had.
“I’m just trying to get connections to understand where everyone is coming from because I feel like currently you are my only friend,” she said.
That statement seemed to surprise Zahara.
But Umrah was not done defending herself.
“Have you seen anyone claiming me?” she asked.
Zahara, however, was still not buying it.
“You have no friendship with those bitches,” she said.
And with a calm sip of her drink, Umrah replied:
“Zero.”
The conversation got even more interesting when Zahara asked the question everyone was thinking.
“What would they add on you if you became friends with them?”
Umrah paused, gave a little smile and admitted:
“I don’t know.”
The two also revisited the Tamara situation.
Zahara questioned whether she was really mean to Tamara or whether Tamara was pretending not to know who she was.
“Are you sure I was mean to her or she pretended like she doesn’t know who Zahara Toto is?” she asked.
Umrah agreed Tamara may have pretended, but she felt it was not worth making a huge issue out of.
“Okay, yeah, she pretended, I accept, but it’s not that deep,” Umrah said.
But Zahara was standing her ground.
“No, no, no. Sometimes I don’t tolerate disrespect,” she insisted.
And to prove her point, Zahara brought in the ultimate example.
“Have you been in a room with Beyoncé and you claim not to know her?” she asked.
By the end of the episode, the friendship question was still hanging in the air.
Is Umrah simply making new friends, or is Zahara worried about losing her favourite person?
One thing is for sure, on Kampala Creme, even a simple friendship upgrade can turn into the biggest drama of the week.
