Aaronnaire has named Diamond Platnumz as the one African artiste he would most like to work with, and the reason has little to do with chart success.
Speaking on NBS After 5, the award-winning music video director said he admires the Tanzanian superstar for remaining loyal to Bongo Flava at a time when many artistes across the continent have embraced Afrobeats and its various offshoots.
According to him, Diamond’s ability to compete on the global stage without abandoning the sound that made him famous is what sets him apart from many of his peers.
If there is one African artiste I would love to work with right now, it has to be Diamond Platnumz. What inspires me most about him is that he has stayed true to his identity. At a time when Afrobeats has become the dominant sound across Africa, Diamond has continued to push Bongo Flava to the world.
For Aaronnaire, that consistency has become one of Diamond’s greatest strengths.
While many artistes have adapted their sound to fit changing trends, he believes the Tanzanian star has built a global brand by leaning even further into his roots.

The director also praised Diamond for proving that African artistes do not have to sacrifice their identity to achieve international success.

Aaronnaire said that is the kind of impact he hopes to make through his own work, which is why a collaboration with Diamond Platnumz remains high on his wish list.
