Pallaso claims most Ugandan artists don’t qualify to battle him – Sqoop

Uganda has witnessed several memorable musical rivalries over the years — from Bebe Cool versus Bobi Wine, Goodlyfe Crew against Bebe Cool, Cindy taking on Sheebah, to the long-standing comparisons between Bobi Wine and Jose Chameleone.

Now, self-styled hitmaker Pallaso has thrown down his own challenge, declaring that only artists with impressive numbers deserve to face him in a musical showdown.

Speaking during an interview on NBS TV’s Kurt program, Pallaso said any artist hoping to battle him must first look at their YouTube statistics.

“Any artist who wants to have a musical battle with me should first check their YouTube channel. If they don’t have at least 25 songs with over one million views, they shouldn’t contend,” Pallaso said confidently.

According to the singer, musical battles should not be driven by hype, noisy fan bases, or social media trends, but by consistency and a proven catalogue of hit songs.

Pallaso believes digital numbers have become one of the most reliable measures of an artist’s success in today’s music industry.

“Women lie, men lie, but numbers don’t lie,” he emphasised.

For the Ani Oyo singer, only artists with sustained influence and a strong body of work have earned the right to share a battle stage with him.

His remarks are likely to spark debate among music fans and fellow artists, especially at a time when conversations around potential music battles continue to dominate Uganda’s entertainment scene.
