Amooti Omubalanguzi has dismissed reports claiming he was fired from his job at the Kisementi-based radio station, clarifying that his departure was entirely his own decision.
Speaking about the matter, the veteran comedian explained that the sacking reports were designed to attract public attention.
He stressed that he was not dismissed but voluntarily requested to step down after serving at the station for nearly two decades.
According to Amooti, the decision was motivated by his desire to dedicate more time to his private ventures and comedy career, having spent many years balancing his responsibilities at the radio station.
He also reassured his fans that although he has reduced his involvement at the station, they will continue to enjoy his content, emphasizing that he remains fully committed to comedy.
Sometimes people create stories that will sell, but the truth is that I requested to step down because I had worked there for a long time. I asked to resign. However, you will still be hearing my content. I only reduced my involvement in some activities for a while, but I am still in comedy.
After close to 20 years at the Kisementi-based media house, Amooti expressed gratitude for the opportunity it gave him to nurture and showcase his talent, describing the experience as an important chapter in his career.
