Pretty Banks has revealed that an acting audition with filmmaker and scriptwriter Nana Kagga played a major role in shaping her music career.
The singer says she initially pursued acting and attended auditions long before she started releasing music.
Speaking on Sanyuka TV, Pretty Banks recalled auditioning for Nana Kagga, who asked whether she had any talents beyond acting.
I can write, I can act. Funny enough, before I started singing, I was doing auditions for acting at Nana Kagga’s.
When she mentioned singing, Nana Kagga asked her to perform on the spot.
At the time, Pretty Banks had not recorded any original songs, so she sang a Rihanna track instead.
She asked me what else I could do and I told her singing. She then told me to sing.
The singer says Nana Kagga recognized her vocal ability and encouraged her to focus on music first.
That advice ultimately changed the course of her career.
Now steadily building her name in the music industry, Pretty Banks says she is ready to revisit her acting ambitions and hopes to land movie roles in the future.
