Ugandan singer Zafaran now going by the name Zafar has officially announced her departure from Swangz Avenue, bringing an end to her association with one of the country’s leading music labels.
In a statement shared on her social media platforms, the singer revealed that the decision was reached after “much prayer and reflection,” adding that she is no longer affiliated with the record label.
Zafar expressed gratitude to Swangz Avenue for the opportunities, mentorship and support she received during her time with the label, noting that the experience played a significant role in shaping both her career and personal growth.
“I am deeply grateful for the opportunities, mentorship, support and experiences I received during my time with the label. This journey has played a significant role in my growth, both as an artist and as an individual,” she said.
The singer emphasized that the separation was amicable and based on mutual respect, as she prepares to embark on a new chapter in her music career.
She also extended appreciation to the label’s management, staff, fellow artists and partners who contributed to her journey.
Addressing her fans, Zafar thanked them for their unwavering support throughout her time under the Swangz Avenue banner, describing their belief in her music as a constant source of motivation.
“As I move forward independently, I am excited about the opportunities ahead and remain committed to creating authentic music and connecting with my supporters in meaningful ways,” she stated.
While Zafar did not reveal details about her future plans, she assured fans that she is looking forward to the next phase of her career and promised more music in the future.
Her departure marks the latest change within Uganda’s music industry, where several artists have recently opted to pursue independent careers after working under established record labels.
