Content creator and influencer Zayra Baby has opened up about overcoming body shaming, saying she no longer lets criticism dictate how she dresses or how she sees herself.
Speaking on Sanyuka Uncut, Zayra revealed that she once avoided wearing shirt dresses and skirts after people mocked her petite body frame and nicknamed her “mukene,” a derogatory term used to describe small-sized fish.
Those comments affected her confidence for a time, but she says she has since learned to embrace her body.

I now understand and love my body.
Today, Zayra says she prefers baggy jeans paired with short tops that highlight her small waist.
While many people associate beauty with bigger curves, she says she feels comfortable in her own skin.

For those who think having big bums is a flex, to me it is not. I have a waist, and I am happy with my body.
Zayra also described fashion as a form of self-expression, saying she deliberately chooses bold outfits because she enjoys standing out.
I always tell people to be dramatic when it comes to fashion.
I don’t do challenges for free; I have worked for Zayra Baby. – Zayra Baby reflects on growth and achievements.#SanyukaUnCut #SanyukaUpdates #FfeBannoDdala pic.twitter.com/TdVqUIorgs
