Before embracing Christianity, Damasco Ssesanga says Sundays meant one thing: drinking alcohol.
The gospel singer revealed that he regularly spent weekends in bars until a friend invited him to Pastor Wilson Bugembe‘s church, an invitation that changed the course of his life.

I used to spend my Sundays in bars, but today I spend them in church.
Looking back, Damasco says the years he spent chasing worldly pleasures remain one of his biggest regrets.
I regret wasting time on worldly things.
Accepting that invitation to church marked the beginning of a different chapter.

My journey of faith began when I agreed to accompany a friend to Pastor Bugembe’s church. I stayed, gave my life to Christ, and the rest is history.
Today, he credits that decision with shaping both the man he has become and the ministry he now carries through gospel music.
That journey continues on Friday, August 14, 2026, when Damasco Ssesanga stages his highly anticipated Live in Very Weelo Concert at the Ndere Cultural Centre in Kampala.
