Matovu Joy urges unconfirmed Kafeero claimants to accept DNA results – Sqoop

Aloysius Matovu Joy has appealed to individuals who were not identified as biological children of the late Kadongo Kamu legend Paul Job Kafeero to accept the outcome of the recently concluded DNA tests and not feel rejected.

The appeal follows the release of DNA results confirming that only four of the 25 people who claimed to be Kafeero’s children were biologically related to the late musician. Those confirmed were Simon Peter Kafeero, Thomas Swazi Kafeero, Elizabeth Nagawa and Benedict Kafeero.

In a message shared after the results were announced, Matovu Joy said he believes Kafeero communicates with him spiritually whenever challenges or misunderstandings arise.

“To make it clear, Paul Kafeero doesn’t attack me. He only visits me whenever there is a challenge or misunderstanding. He usually comes with his friend, Mulindwa Muwonge,” he said.

According to Matovu Joy, the late singer’s message encouraged all those involved in the DNA exercise to respect the scientific findings while maintaining the family bond that had existed over the years.

He quoted Kafeero as saying: “My children, what you asked for has finally come to pass. When I raised you, I never segregated or discriminated against any of you. If this process has separated some of you, you will still remain my children, though not of my blood. We should all respect what the DNA results have confirmed.”

Matovu Joy further urged those who were not confirmed as Kafeero’s biological children not to view the results as a form of rejection, emphasizing that they should continue to cherish the relationship they shared with the late musician.

He also thanked individuals who, over the years, supported and cared for the children associated with Kafeero’s family.

Among those he singled out were Charles James Ssenkubuge and National Unity Platform president Bobi Wine, whom he commended for extending assistance to the family.

The release of the DNA results has sparked widespread public discussion, with many Ugandans weighing in on the findings and their implications for the late musician’s family and legacy.
