The claims, which were amplified by social media personality Senga Acid, alleged that Elektra had been battling depression and had recently travelled to her hometown of Ishaka, where she reportedly visited family and friends before allegedly attempting to poison herself.
The unverified reports further claimed that she survived the incident and was admitted to a hospital in Ishaka for treatment.
Amid the speculation, NRG Radio Uganda presenter Evelyn Mic said she contacted Elektra by phone on Monday morning to check on her wellbeing.
According to Evelyn Mic, the content creator confirmed that she is currently in Ishaka and assured her that she is doing better, but declined to discuss the allegations publicly.
“I called her this early morning to find out how she was doing. She told me, ‘I don’t want to talk about this on the internet.’ I want to let everyone know that she is okay right now, but she doesn’t want to discuss it online. She is in Ishaka as we speak,” Evelyn Mic said.
The presenter also appealed to people close to Elektra, including her friends and former best friend Christine Nampeera, to reach out and support her, suggesting that loneliness may be contributing to whatever challenges she is facing.
Elektra herself has not publicly addressed the allegations beyond indicating that she does not wish to discuss the matter online.
The reports regarding an alleged suicide attempt remain unverified.
