Legendary Ugandan theatre actor John Segawa, a close friend of the late Paul Kafeero, believes the long-running questions surrounding the singer’s family have finally been answered.
Speaking after the DNA results were released, Segawa welcomed the findings, saying they had brought clarity after years of uncertainty.
We did not want to exalt the late, but since it happened, we thank God that now everyone knows the truth.
According to Segawa, the family never intended for the DNA exercise to become a public spectacle but accepted the process because it was necessary to establish the truth.
He said the findings should now allow everyone involved to move forward and put an end to the speculation that surrounded the late Kadongo Kamu legend’s family.
The DNA results, released on June 25, confirmed that only four of the 25 people tested were biological children of Paul Kafeero, ending years of competing claims over the singer’s lineage.
