Singer Yung Mulo has broken his silence on the health scare that saw him hospitalized shortly after his traditional kukyala ceremony, revealing that extreme exhaustion, not financial stress, was to blame.
The artist said he is recovering well after doctors advised him to take time off and rest following weeks of nonstop activity that took a toll on his health.
Speaking about the incident, Yung Mulo explained that preparations for his kukyala, combined with music tours and family obligations, left him with little time to recover physically.
“I wasn’t sleeping enough during the period leading up to the ceremony,” he said. “I was constantly on tour, handling preparations and other commitments. My body became fatigued, and then I went to the gym and pushed myself even harder. The exhaustion, combined with the intense workouts, eventually caught up with me.”
The singer said medical examinations ruled out common illnesses such as malaria, with doctors concluding that his condition was caused by severe fatigue.
He said the only treatment recommended was adequate rest to allow his body to fully recover.
Yung Mulo also dismissed speculation that his hospitalization was linked to financial difficulties stemming from his kukyala ceremony.
Social media users had suggested he was overwhelmed by debts incurred while organizing the event, claims he described as baseless.
“I know Ugandans love drama more than the truth,” he said with a laugh. “After I shared the video from the hospital, people immediately claimed I was stressed because of loans. But the truth is, I don’t owe anyone.”
The singer assured fans that he is steadily regaining his strength and looks forward to returning to music once he has fully recovered.
