Grace Nakimera has revealed that she would not tolerate a partner requesting a DNA test for their children, describing such a move as a sign of mistrust that could end a relationship.
Her comments come amid ongoing public discussions about DNA testing following reports that only four out of 25 individuals who claimed to be children of late Ugandan musician Paul Kafeero were confirmed through DNA tests to be biologically related to him. The revelations have fueled conversations online, with some people calling for mandatory DNA testing at birth.
Speaking on the matter, Grace Nakimera said she believes a man’s decision to request a DNA test reflects doubt about both his partner and the family they have built together. According to her, even the slightest suspicion would be enough to damage the relationship beyond repair.
I think my decisions are rational because if you aren’t sure of us being your family, even if your doubt is 1%, the day you do the DNA, is when we separate.
Nakimera explained that her concern is not whether the children belong to the man, but rather why he would question her faithfulness in the first place. She also expressed skepticism about some DNA test outcomes, saying she finds it difficult to believe the growing number of cases where men discover children they raised are not biologically theirs.
The singer further stated that DNA testing can create unnecessary tension in families and destroy homes.
However, she jokingly noted that if a man chose to carry out a DNA test in secret and she never found out about it, she would rather remain unaware than deal with the consequences of the mistrust.
