President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has categorised denial of sex to a spouse as one of the common injustices and a “serious offence.”
In his address to the nation on 4th July 2026, President Museveni highlighted issues of justice and human rights often faced in the communities.
Mentioning several injustices, President Museveni’s remarks on the denial of sex amongst spouses seemed to catch many listeners a little off guard.
He described it as a “big offence” while noting how indigenous communities also fronted not feeding the partner well, and denying them shelter as the other offences.
Mistreatment of spouses, such as kuguunga (denial of sex); that’s a big offence.
