Celebrated gospel singer Judith Babirye has hinted at making a long-awaited return to Uganda next year to celebrate 20 years in the gospel music industry with a major concert.
During a phone conversation with Pastor Wilson Bugembe, Babirye confirmed that 2027 is the year she will return to the Pearl of Africa to mark the milestone with her fans.
Although the exact date is yet to be announced, the singer disclosed that the concert is likely to be held either at Kampala Serena Hotel or Kololo Independence Grounds, two of the country’s most prestigious entertainment venues.
“I’m coming next year (2027) as a must. The concert is likely to happen at Serena Hotel or Kololo Airstrip.”
The announcement comes shortly after gospel artist Joseph Ngooma staged a sold-out concert at Lugogo Cricket Oval, attracting a massive crowd that filled the venue, with some fans reportedly unable to gain entry.
Judith Babirye remains one of Uganda’s most influential gospel musicians. Her inspiring worship songs and powerful messages of faith have touched countless lives over the past two decades, earning her a loyal fan base across different generations.
Given her rich music catalog and enduring popularity, expectations are already high that her 20th anniversary concert will be one of the biggest gospel events of 2027, bringing together fans eager to celebrate the remarkable journey of one of Uganda’s most beloved gospel voices.
